Power Transmission Corporation of Uttarakhand Limited (PUTCUL) is set to strengthen the digital capabilities of its officers and employees through a six-month hybrid certificate course in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity. The initiative aims to enhance PUTCUL’s capacity to tackle cyber threats and improve decision-making in the energy sector.
The course, conducted in collaboration with the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), will cover digital literacy, foundations of AI, and cybersecurity. It is open to Assistant Engineers, Junior Engineers, Draughtsmen, Accounts Staff, and Ministerial Staff. Offline classes will be held on the second Saturday of each month, while four-hour online sessions will take place every Sunday.
The training will focus on machine learning, deep learning, supervised and unsupervised learning, AI model classification, clustering, regression, feature engineering, and defensive AI techniques to secure models. Employees completing the programme will be required to sign a five-year service bond with the corporation.

PUTCUL officials said that the initiative will not only improve expertise in digital processes and data-driven tasks but also support career growth and future promotions. The trained officers are expected to play a key role in making the corporation’s operations smarter, more efficient, and digitally advanced.
