Bengaluru School Fee Viral Post: School fees in Bengaluru have once again become the talk of the internet, after details of a shocking fee structure left many parents stunned. A social media post about an international school in the city has now gone viral, showing that parents would have to spend as much as Rs 7.35 lakh a year just to admit their child into Grade 1. The post was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by a user named Hardik Pandya, who uploaded a snapshot of the annual charges for the 2025–26 academic session at an IB-affiliated school. The picture revealed that under the Primary Years Programme (Grades 1–5), parents are expected to pay Rs 3,67,500 twice a year, making the yearly total Rs 7,35,000.
On top of that, the school demands a non-refundable admission fee of Rs 1 lakh at the time of enrollment, along with an application fee of Rs 1,000. The numbers don’t stop there, fees for senior classes are even higher. For students of Grade 11 and 12, the annual cost shoots up to around Rs 11 lakh, placing the institution among the most expensive private schools in the country.
Sharing the details online, Pandya wrote, “Annual fee structure of primary school years at one of the better institutions in Bangalore. ₹7,35,000 per annum from Grade 1. Don’t miss the ₹1,00,000 non-refundable admission fees.”

As expected, the post spread quickly and drew hundreds of reactions. Many users expressed disbelief, while others questioned whether quality education in India is slowly becoming unaffordable for even well-off families. "Anyone who considers this a reasonable amount needs to touch grass. It is EDUCATION. A basic human right," a user wrote. "I have experienced and can boldly say that the Education and medical institutions in Bengaluru are very greedy," a second user wrote.
"This is not education, this is extortion in a school uniform. Seven and a half lakhs a year for Grade 1 and a one lakh entry fee that vanishes into thin air. Parents are fooled into believing they are buying brilliance for their kids, but what they are actually buying is stress, entitlement, and a hollow system that rewards money over merit," wrote a third user. "Sad. Most parts of world's education is free. And here it’s just business and an earning machine," added another user.
