Bengaluru Woman Viral Post: Imagine going to the cinema for a relaxed evening, only to find the person in front of you busy typing away on a laptop. That’s exactly what happened during a screening of the Kannada film Lokah in Bengaluru and the picture of it has now gone viral. The post appeared on Reddit with the caption: “Blore work culture is wild!” and immediately sparked a heated discussion about Bengaluru’s corporate grind.
The original poster on r/Bangalore wrote: “Only in Bangalore! went to watch the Lokah movie and a woman in the row ahead opened her laptop and started working like she was in the office, typing away, in a theater. Honestly, it says a lot about how chaotic the work culture here is; people can’t even switch off for 2 hours without office pressure creeping in. Work-life balance? What’s that?”
The image touched a nerve because it reflects a familiar story for many professionals in the city, work seeping into every corner of life. Some called it an extreme case of hustle culture, while others joked that this is 'peak Bengaluru.'

The post shared two days ago garnered significant likes and comments from Reddit users. "If you are working along with teams in the US and Europe/other time zones away from our working hours, you may need to attend meetings well into the midnight daily, after working the Indian hours. This is the case especially when the main teams and managers are located in the USA," a user wrote.
"Culture? This is slavery. I saw a guy working in a salon while getting a haircut," a second user wrote. "So she is neither doing work nor watching the movie. Incredible, I feel for her," wrote a third user. "I want to ask whose permission you clicked that photo and why there's no provision to file a case against such privacy harm," added a fourth user.
"It's a priority, why waste ur time sitting in the theatre without the movie even starting? It's a better thing to do," added another user. "Just looks like she's getting some work done before the movie starts, no harm in that. The wait before the movie can be boring," wrote another user.
