The popular online delivery app, Blinkit, recently won over half the desis and turned into their go-to ‘Sabji Wale Bhaiya’, after taking an impressive suggestion from a Blinkit customer. Just yesterday, May 15, an internet user shared about his mother’s shocked reaction over not getting coriander for free on Blinkit, like it’s offered by other roadside vegetable vendors. The post went viral and was quick to come into the notice of Blinkit CEO, Albinder Dhindsa. Promptly taking action, the CEO took the post as a suggestion and gave a ‘green light’ to the idea, impressing the netizens.
However, what was even further commendable, was that the offer began to show up on the app on the same day. Sharing a screenshot of the same, the CEO gave the exciting news to customers, updating them about the 100 grams of free coriander that they would be getting with their vegetables order.
The post that started it all, was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘SatanAtWink’. It read, “Mom got a mini heart attack because she had to pay for dhaniya on Blinkit. @albinder - Mom is suggesting that you should bundle it for free with certain amount of veggies.”

The post went viral and left the internet impressed. Most hailed the CEO for making a swift decision, while the rest shared about their experiences of receiving free coriander. Some also shared jokes, yet lauded the move.
Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “This dhaniya update is worth a billion dollars in market cap. 5% higher closing tomorrow,” a user said. “Love the speed of execution!” added another. “By far one of the most impressive uses of Social Media (X specifically) and fast implementation by the company. Betting big time on Zomato & Blinkit!” added another.
“The regret when the free Dhniya and Mirchi dry out without being put to use,” joined a fourth person. “That's literally every mom ever, but thanks! Mine would be happy too,” wrote a fifth user. “What's the minimum cart value needed ?” asked a sixth person. “Super cool. Wonderful display of customer empathy & execution,” added a seventh person.
