Boycott Netflix Trends: South superstar Nayanthara’s recent Tamil movie ‘Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food’ ended up in the middle of the storm after countless netizens accused it of promoting ‘love jihad’ and began to chastise the movie. Annapoorani, which was supposed to narrate a story that aimed to eliminate the ‘religious’ boundaries moving against the ‘passion for cooking’ and food, instead triggered an entire ‘chain reaction’, leading to trends like ‘Boycott Netflix’, branding the Tamil film as ‘anti-Hindu’. An FIR has also been filed against the movie for the 'inappropriate' use of Lord Ram and ‘hunting’ context from the Ramayana. Several scenes from the film are being shared on social media, as people spoke about the ‘issues’ they found with the film.

Nayanthara’s Tamil Movie Annapoorani has been directed by Nilesh Krishnaa and also starred actor Jai. The movie is streaming on Netflix, hence the ‘Boycott Netflix’ trend.

Taking to the comment section, people completely took over the internet and shared their take on the film and its plot. Many accused the film of promoting ‘love jihad’, while some accused it of hurting ‘Hindu sentiments’. Many also expressed their disappointment over the involvement of ‘Lord Ram’ and demanded to know the film’s source of information.

“Has Valmiki ji said that Lord Ram killed animals and ate non-veg during his exile? This #Annapoorani is being told in the movie, intellectuals should tell, is this true? Or is Lord Ram being defamed? If it is wrong then this movie should be banned,” a user said.

“The movie #Annapoorani  hits the sensitive nerves of brahmanical vegetarian fascists and Islamophobes. Reason: A Brahmin woman turns meat-eater in pursuit of her passion to become the best Chef in India - AND She prays, wearing a Burqa before preparing Biryani in competition,” said a third.

#Annapoorani is a shameless anti-Hindu conversion propaganda targeting Hindu girls,” said a fourth user.

“What is the source of information? #Nayanthara#Annapoorani,” said a fifth person.
