Viral Post: When going out with friends, it's common for one person to cover all the expenses, with the others reimbursing them individually. There are various ways to calculate how much each person owes, from manual calculations to using apps like Splitwise for precise results. The latest trend in this 'split game' started for a reason you'll want to know. Recently, a viral post on X featured a CA who took the concept to the next level by creating a detailed Excel sheet. This sheet outlined exactly who paid what during the outing and how much everyone still needed to pay.

The viral post was shared by a girl named Sneha on her account '@itspsneha.' In the Excel sheet, the columns were divided into eight sections, with one column dedicated to the food items consumed. The remaining seven columns were labeled with the names of the people in the group. The spreadsheet clearly specified the exact amount each person needed to pay.

The viral post was shared yesterday and quickly gained attention. The caption read, "My friends here in Business School went out yesterday, and the CA in the group just sent this sheet with the split. Kinda love it lmao."

The post garnered over 723k views, and social media users flooded the comment section with their thoughts on the viral content. Let's take a look at some of the reactions. “This is how I want to do it as well, but my friends are too judgemental about it!” a user wrote. “No offense, there is no calculation of Rs 2-2 between friends, it's usually the final amount/no of packs. It is better not to be friends with such stingy friends,” a second user wrote. “We used to just split the whole amount by the number of people.
One can easily spot a simple calculation mistake too in this sheet,” added a third user.

“Who the hell is drinking water worth 2 rs each...also where is such 2 rs water available?” a fourth user wrote. “Honestly don’t know why people are shitting on this. This kind of split is very common, especially with groups that contain a mix of veg/non-veg people or people who drink/don’t drink. It’s only fair to split based on what you ate. Yes, Splitwise exists, but it doesn’t let you add splits of this granularity, not to mention the annoying 10s advert,” a fifth user commented.
