Viral Video: The reputation of landlords in several parts of India is not exactly ideal. From keeping forward some of the most bizarre expectations from tenants to meddling in their personal lives, the internet is full of countless instances where India’s rent culture followed by landlords raised several ‘red flags’. However, it seems like an Indian tenant in Canada, played the ‘Uno Reverse’ card after he became the reason for unwanted drama for his Canadian landlord. A video was shared on social media, where the landlord was seen throwing the tenant’s stuff out, whereas the Indian man was seen standing nearby and verbally retaliating. As per the post, the extreme measure was taken after the tenant allegedly refused to vacate the apartment in time.
The video, after getting shared, pulled all kinds of reactions. Most people, especially Indians, found the incident embarrassing and criticised the man for creating chaos, while the rest advocated for the man saying that he must have had a reason.
The fighting video was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘Ghar ke kalesh’. The post was captioned, “Kalesh b/w a Desi guy and His landlord over he had a fight with landlord cos he was not vacating the house then The landlord came and started moving his stuff out by himself, Brampton Canada.” The video was shared a few days ago and pulled more than a million views.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “This is not good for the country's reputation. People should follow the rules. This is not India where someone can get away with such things. It is damaging India's global image, and landlords may refuse to rent their property to needy Indians,” a user said.
“The Trudeau family and their terrible policies have ruined Canada. This is really uncomfortable to watch,” added a second person. “The tenant might have reasons for not vacating, but it’s also unfair for landlords to feel powerless. Unfortunately, it had to escalate to this point. I feel for both sides here,” added a third person. “Did he think he was in India where tenants can continue to live in a rented house for years even without paying rent?” added another.
