Maybe the candidate was too smart, or perhaps was simply facing unemployment to the level that they had to go for something ‘out of the ordinary’- whatever the reason might be, a candidate offered $500 (more than Rs 41,000) to the hiring managers. Confused as to why? Well, the confident candidate wanted to give a week’s trial to the manager, for which he offered the said amount. The said offer was offered in a text, which further read that in case the candidate ended up impressing the manager, the candidate would get the money back. The unique tactic went viral and somewhat divided the internet.

The post went viral almost immediately as many were left impressed with the trick, while a few called it a ‘bad pitch’.

The post was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘paraschopra’. The post was captioned, “This is how you get attention! (Obviously won’t take money but very impressed with the pitch).” The post was shared five days ago and pulled 129K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “I can bet the same for product role at 2x but guess this trick won’t work now,” a user said. “It also speaks about the sad state of jobs currently - where a candidate has to mention $$$ to get attention,” added a second person. “It’s a super bad pitch. Getting impressed with this pitch is also bad for hiring managers,” added a third person.

“Like they say, every ‘content’ type has an audience type,” wrote another. “At least you can be sure he didn’t send it to 20 companies,” added a fifth user. “Looking forward to your rejection. What a baller,” wrote another. “That's one good DM, this message just speaks to the person's confidence so much,” added a seventh person.
