Viral Snake Video: India is often taken among countries with the most temples, and that is surely something to be proud of for many. However, the country is also among the ones where people do anything and everything in the name of religion, which sadly might not be that impressive. Exemplifying the latter issue, a questionable incident came forward, which posed more questions on animal cruelty than devotion. A video was shared online, where a family was seen holding a puja, with a live black cobra in the middle. Yes, you read that correctly.
The clip went viral and left people irked as most people were concerned for the snake’s well-being, and also about the safety of the family members. In the video, the reptile was also seen attacking people, after it seemingly looked stressed. The date and location of the incident could not be confirmed.
The video was shared on social media platform Instagram, by the handle ‘omkar_sanatanii’.

The video, soon after getting shared, went viral on social media and left a majority angered. Most dubbed the incident as an example of animal cruelty, while the rest called it ‘foolishness’ and expressed concerns towards the reptile's safety.
The post was shared three days ago and pulled a million likes from people. Taking to the comment section, people shared their take.

“I feel bad for the snake.. the snake might be getting tons of smell sensor. The snake might be frustrated and confused,” a user said. “Why to trouble the innocent animal,” added a second user. “Don’t hurt any animal but plz don’t do this too,” added a third person. “Can someone explain the point of worshiping a snake? Just curious because I don't think snakes are Hindu gods, why not worship Shivaji instead??” asked another.
“Tortured soul in the snake body. How’s this worshipping? Dear God save the soul soon,” added another. “One of the reasons India shouldn’t be dreaming about becoming a developed nation,” commented next. “I am also a Hindu but this is animal cruelty,” added a seventh user. “This is foolishness,” wrote the next.
