Viral Video: Not the poor condition of roads, not the lack of stricter traffic rules, and not even the basic infrastructure necessities like speed breakers, traffic lights, and such, but it’s rather the ‘impatience’ on Indian roads that people often blame behind major accidents. Exemplifying the same, a video was shared on social media, showing a gruesome accident. The clip showed a biker trying to cross a road that was relatively empty. Yet, the biker ended up colliding with another speeding car, which seemingly refused to slow down for the biker. The video was captured on the CCTV camera installed nearby. As per the post, the incident took place in Karnataka, near Mangalore. Whereas the date of the incident could not be confirmed.
The video has been floating around on social media ever since it was shared. Most people chastised the car driver for not slowing down or applying breaks despite seeing the driver, while the rest suggested speed breakers for such roads.
The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘DriveSmart_IN’. The post was captioned, “Location: Puttur, Near Mangalore. A biker waiting to turn might turn. A defensive driving approach would be 1. Spot bikers early. 2. Alert them with your horn. 3. Be prepared to slow down by checking traffic behind you. 4. Anticipate these hazards and adjust your speed to avoid sudden reactions.” The video was shared yesterday and pulled more than 92K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “The speed of the car for that road looks to be high. Secondly, the biker should have anticipated, seeing the car's speed. Unfortunately, we want to save that 1 second and never mind taking risks. This is the mindset,” a user said. “This is so scary,” added another.
“Why don't people apply brakes when they see some obstacles?? Always trying to keep speed and change lanes to avoid...why not try to slow down....what is the hurry,” added a third user. “This incident is easily avoidable if we install speed breakers at every T and square junction. Our sedan drivers are more worried about ground scratches. Installation of speed breaker is most effective, low cost and practical way to deal with this,” added another.
