Millennial and Gen Z desis might have a whole lot of questions for you if you are one of the people who didn’t watch the iconic animated cartoon ‘Chhota Bheem’ on POGO during your childhood. Chhota Bheem solving matters and saving his village from peculiar villains, along with his unique group of friends that also had an adorable speaking monkey, were all the adventures that kids enjoyed until a few years back. However, it seems like nostalgia took a ride back home in a supercar because the cartoon is back in trends and people can’t help but ‘join the bandwagon’. Confused? Well, allow us to elaborate on why your Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) algorithm is being flooded with a unique ringtone; Chin Tapak Dum Dum.
If you haven’t seen a single social media post brandishing the popular ‘Chin Tapak Dum Dum’, are you even using the internet correctly? ‘Chin Tapak Dum Dum’ is basically a ‘Takiya Kalam’ (catchphrase), that is going viral on the internet. It has been turned into a major meme material. From videos, memes, photos to whatnot, you name it, and ‘Chin Tapak Dum Dum’ is there.
The catchphrase is from the cartoon Chhota Bheem. It belongs to a villain in the show, Takiya, who is an evil magician. The scene that especially made the phrase popular was when the magician was inside a prison as a prisoner and was busy performing some ritual. The scene was from the episode ‘Old Enemies’.
As soon as the clip of the scene began to circulate on the internet, people began to use it in memes. Here’s how the internet reacted to the said meme.
“Oye champ tu andar hi reh, bahar sab cheen tapak dum dum kar rahe hai,” a user said.
