It goes without saying that one of the best things for delivery agents is getting a hefty tip for the orders they deliver. Since the tipping option is mostly optional, getting the extra cash for services provided is rather rare in India, making the act itself uncommon and joyful enough to celebrate. However, for this particular delivery agent, a Rs 300 tip was a reason for his excitement to go from ‘100 to 0’. Confused? Well, the delivery boy was actually the company owner, who decided to deliver the order worth Rs 3200 out of excitement to his customer. The man reached the customer's house in just 10 minutes, which made the customer happy enough to give him Rs 3500, where she asked him to keep the change. However, as per the man’s X post, the tip instead killed his excitement.
As soon as the man’s post began to do rounds on the internet, he mostly got ‘called out’ by netizens for being ‘egoistic’. The post went viral and pulled all kinds of reactions from people. Most suggested keeping ego aside and being thankful for the tip, while the rest mocked the man’s take on a ‘genuine gesture’ and shared jokes on the same.
The post was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘akashbnsal’. The post was captioned, “We received a COD order for Rs. 3200 near our office. I was super pumped and decided to deliver myself. It took just 10 minutes. The lady handed me Rs. 3500 and told me to keep the change. The excitement level went from 100 to 0 in a flash.”

The excitement level went from 100 to 0 in a flash. 🫢
Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “So sorry to hear that. I suggest you get an “I am The company’s founder, please make me feel special” t-shirt for yourself. Might work next time,” a user said. “An inflated ego is not good for a founder! I would have happily accepted that tip and would have added to the company's cash flow,” added a second person.
“Why bro? When all delivery apps nowadays have the option to add tips by choice, what would happen if she gave it to you? Why did you feel so bad? You could have kept it. I would have taken it and got it framed with pride. This was not a forced tip. She genuinely wanted to give, it seems. “Should have gone from 100 to 500 so that you have good paying customers. Have pride in the process, not events,” added another.
