Danish Woman Viral Video: What started as a bold decision to “leave everything behind” has turned into a life-changing journey for Danish woman Astrid Esmeralda. Her story is now going viral, as she calls moving to India the “best decision of her life.”
In a heartfelt Instagram video, Astrid opened up about her 10-month-long experience in India. She wrote, “On my 10th month—and this has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life!!! I needed a change. It felt like there was nothing left for me in Copenhagen. I loved my job, my apartment, my friends (I miss you!), but I was so bored with the city… It’s only fun in the summer! The rest of the time, we’re all just waiting for summer, and it feels like such a sleepy place.”
Sharing her love for India, she added, "Now in India, I feel soooo alive! India has opened my eyes to so much. First of all, I’ve fallen in love with a country that’s so diverse, wild, and beautiful. I’ve fallen in love with the culture, the people, and the nature."
From the peaceful vibes of Rishikesh to the lively scenes of Mumbai and Goa, her video shows glimpses of her adventures across India. Along with her travels, Astrid also spoke about the emotional transformation she’s gone through. "India has shown me new sides of myself, awakened my dreams, and given me trust in my journey. It’s also shown me the real effects of karma."
Though she plans to spend the summer in Europe, her journey in India is far from over. "I’ll stay here one more month, then spend my summer traveling in Europe, and come back again after the monsoon," she said.
She concluded her post saying, “If you’re even thinking about traveling to India—GO FOR IT! It’s been life-changing for me. Always happy to answer travel questions! Just hit me up. Before going for my first trip, I was indeed scared because lots of people warned you not to go as a woman. I have a different opinion about that and share safety tips on my profile.”
