Deepinder Goyal On Shark Tank India: Shark Tank India is soon going to make a comeback on television and it's safe to say that fans are already getting excited to watch another set of entrepreneurs get grilled by the famous ‘sharks’. Following the phrase ‘giving the credit where it's due’, it's important to mention that such a popularising reputation for these sharks was definitely made because of Ashneer Grover, who never hid away from commenting on the candidates when it came to a ‘faulty’ business model. So automatically, the show bore an evident loss when the man left Shark Tank India. But not anymore, or was it something that only Shark Tank India and Deepinder Goyal thought?
Deepinder Goyal, the new ‘shark’ and Zomato CEO, will sit on one of the judges' seats in Shark Tank India season 3. But even before the show aired, the man already went viral and got compared to Grover in his absence. However, the ‘comparison’ is not exactly how Goyal and the show must have seen coming.
A video of Goyal was shared online, where he was seen schooling a candidate for grammar and spelling mistakes in his business model. However, the entire ‘attention to details’ stance of Goyal backfired instead, as the comments on the viral video began to question his ‘judgments’.
Most pointed out that he was ‘rejecting’ a techie’s business models based on ‘spelling mistakes’. Meanwhile, Grover was recalled for his take on ‘maths, profit and ideas’ instead by some of the netizens. Some even accused him of trying to ‘copy Grover’.
The video was shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘sharktankindia’. The post was captioned, “When Shark Deepinder Goyal goes into ‘Shark-mode’!”

The video, ever since it was shared, has been going viral as people had a lot to add. Most ‘trolled’ the man for pointing out ‘English mistakes’ in a ‘techie’s CV’, while the rest commended his ‘attention to details’. The rest compared him with Ashneer Grover and accused him of 'copying' the former judge in the show. The video was shared yesterday and pulled 30K views from netizens.
Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Must be fun working at Zomato,” a user said. “CV pe typo atta we reject the people? English teachers hire kar rahe ho ke techies. Why such dislike for spelling mistakes? (You reject people based on their typos in their CVs? Are you hiring an English teacher or techies?),” a second said. “What are you even trying to say? Or are you trying to copy @Ashneer_Grover?” asked another. “Many aspire to emulate @Ashneer_Grover for his popularity, but it's essential to recognize that no one can fill his shoes,” commented next.
“Should have broadcast this instead of releasing on OTT, I miss watching Shark Tank,” added another. “Shark mode is expected out of sharks no. It was good to see him and making bold sharky moves whether it’s the one with WTF or the offer made to interview,” said another.
“Ashneer Grover: Bro your math is wrong, so your business won’t work. People won’t give you money for this, so I will not invest. Meanwhile, Deepinder Goyal: You wrote ‘advance’ instead of ‘advanced’. You are rejected.- Standards,” said the next.
