Delhi Metro Viral Post: A tired young couple was travelling in the Delhi Metro after an early start to their day. The girl had appeared for a medical exam after being selected as a flight attendant at IndiGo, and she hadn’t slept much the night before. While sitting in the metro, the boyfriend, feeling cold and sleepy, rested his head gently on his girlfriend’s shoulder and even “jokingly rubbed” his nose out of playfulness. “It was nothing over the top, just a small moment between us,” the young man shared later on Reddit.

However, what seemed like a normal and innocent gesture quickly turned into an awkward scene. A middle-aged man nearby wasn’t happy and started scolding them for their behaviour in public. According to the Reddit post, the uncle said, “Don’t do this. You don’t have etiquette. This is a public place. Don’t you have elders at home? Would you do this in front of them?”

Even though the boyfriend tried to explain calmly, another person in the metro joined in and told him to “shut up and stop arguing.” The couple was shocked at how a small moment of tired affection turned into an uncomfortable lecture about values and public behaviour. In the Reddit post titled “Got judged in Delhi Metro for resting on my girlfriend’s shoulder,” the boyfriend asked other users if he had really done something wrong. His honest post quickly went viral, and many internet users jumped into the discussion.

The post shared three days ago received many comments from Reddit users. While some supported the couple, others debated over what is acceptable in public spaces. One user wrote, "Getting through it quietly if you don't wanna make a scene because there's no logically constructed argument that could convince them otherwise." "Half these oldies are themselves deprived of affection and intimacy, so they just project it onto others in the name of 'respect and etiquette'. Imagine being so deprived that someone resting their head on a partner’s shoulder is such an issue," a second user added.

"These uncles don't have any work other than judging young people. They think they are always right just because they are old. Bad people will become old, so should we respect them out of their age, ignoring what they have done?" added a third user. "It's all Chill and Ok as long as she and you are fine with it. Don't think much about these old and mean commentators who have no other business except for passing comments on other people whom they have nothing to do with," a fourth user wrote.
