Diljit Dosanjh Viral Video: Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s Hyderabad fans ended up missing the chance to listen to the singer live sing some of his most loved songs like Patiala Pegg and Panchatara after the Telangana government issued a sudden notice to the singer just hours ahead of his Hyderabad concert. For those unaware, the notice asked the singer to not sing songs promoting alcohol, violence, and drugs, which surely did not sit well with the singer. The singer decided to do as asked but did not shy away from taking multiple digs at the Telangana government over the matter. The recent one came when the singer was performing at his Ahmedabad concert, in which he refused to sing songs promoting alcohol yet again, despite ‘getting no notice’.

As per the singer, the decision came citing the fact that Gujarat was a dry state. The singer then went ahead and pointed out how he had released multiple devotional songs, which hardly got any attention in comparison to the couple of songs that he had sung on alcohol. Clarifying that he himself does not drink alcohol, Diljit then came up with a unique proposal in response to the entire matter, which only made him further ‘lovable’ among his fans as people surely loved the way he handled everything. The singer proposed a Dry Nation Movement and promised to never make songs on alcohol if something like that actually ended up happening.

Needless to say, the proposal went viral and drew many reactions. The singer’s Dil-Luminati Tour, on the other hand, will end on December 29, after his last concert in Guwahati. Whereas, after Ahmedabad, he is secluded to perform in Lucknow on November 22.

The video is going insanely viral, drawing reactions of all kinds from people. Most people sided with the singer over the matter, while some chastised the Telangana government over the notice.

The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘diljitdosanjh’. The post was captioned, “Let’s start Dry Nation Movement, Ahmedabad.” The video was shared two days ago and pulled 291K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “The irony: 24/7 gutka ads, alcohol shops prioritized during COVID for revenue, but listening to a few lines of a song will ‘degrade’ society? Gazab logic!” a user said. “If your name is Daljit Sharma or Daljit Verma instead of Dusanjh, then you can do anything in India. Otherwise, it is not possible as a Sikh nowadays,” added another.

“Even Diljit was feeling targeted. Finally, he had spoken what he actually felt,” added another. “@TelanganaCOPs - Close all wine shops in Hyderabad if you truly care about the youth. Or is your power only for targeting North Indian singers? Hypocrisy at its peak by Telangana police!” added another.
