The UP Government has been drawing criticism on social media ever since a video involving a government official went viral on the internet. The officer, in question, was found in an intoxicated state after he rammed into another vehicle that was parked on the roadside. Rushing into action, the owner of the damaged car started recording the incident, and the officer, who was heavily drunk and was only speaking gibberish and refused to pay for the damage. The accused was a forest department official and was driving a car with ‘UP Sarkar’ written on it. The video was shared on the social media site X (formerly Twitter) by the user ‘Himanshu Tripathi’. The post was captioned in Hindi which roughly translated to, “Angoor's daughter is being said to be the reason for this trouble.”

The video went viral on social media and people were left angry. Most demanded the officer’s suspension or action against him and tagged the UP Police in the post’s comment section, while the rest made sarcastic comments on the UP law and order situation. The post was shared today and gained likes in thousands.  

As soon as the matter went viral, the UP Police also took notice of the incident and responded to the post. “Please feel free to provide complete information related to the incident in the message inbox,” the official handle of the PU Police handle commented.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Gajab ka faisan hai uttar Pradesh sarkar Matlab gadi me kuch bhi likhwa lo koi kanun nahi hai (UP Government is great, people can write anything they want on their vehicles),” a user said. “Public inse seekhtee hai.? (People learn from this?),” asked a second person. “Absolute power effect!” added another user. “Take strong action,” commented a fourth netizen. “Is police wale ko suspend kar na chahiye sir (This police officer should be suspended),” said a fifth netizen.
