Elderly Man Viral Video: While most people avoid the rain, one elderly man in India turned it into the perfect moment for yoga, and now, his video is winning hearts online. In the viral video, the man can be seen doing a headstand (sirsasana) on a railway platform as light rain fell around him. He had no yoga mat, no umbrella, and didn’t seem to care that people were watching or filming him from across the platform. The video, shared on Reddit by a user named @PeepalGhost, came with the caption, “Waiting for the train and saw an old Man doing Yoga on the platform while it was raining.”
The person who recorded the clip said the man had been doing several yoga poses, but they could only capture one. In India, yoga is a part of daily life for many, seen in parks, homes, rooftops, and even offices. But seeing it done in the rain, at a railway station, by a calm elderly man? That’s something people weren’t expecting. The way he stayed peaceful and focused, even with others around, left many people impressed.
Social media users called the video a perfect slice of real India, simple, surprising, and inspiring. It’s a reminder that you don’t always need a fancy setup to stay connected with yourself. Sometimes, all it takes is a bit of space, a quiet mind, and a deep breath, even if you're just waiting for a train.
The post received many comments from Reedit users. One user wrote, "We all need such a coping mechanism before boarding a train in India." "All I see is a person who forgot his umbrella and is keeping his head dry from the rain!" a second user added. "Now some of us will go abroad and do the same there, where it won't be appreciated like here," added a third user.
"The feeling would be out of this world, with more blood circulation going to his head," added a fourth user. "For some angrezi folks - this will fit the stereotype. Hope the old dude is okay," a fifth user added. "That's kinda impressive, not gonna lie," wrote another user. "Bro got some good quality stuff, it seems lol. Reminds me of the movie Hello Brother Razaak Khan," added another person.
