Tesla Optimus Robot: Remember those sci-fi films where every protagonist had an AI robot working as their ‘ultimate friend’? Well, it seems like those days are not so far away, and it’s all thanks to Tesla CEO Elon Musk- for the possibility of making this 'weird' dream come true. Tesla’s last night’s much-awaited ‘We, Robot’ event looked much like a scene straight out of these above-mentioned sci-fi films, as the company introduced some ‘very’ futuristic-looking innovations. Among these, what grabbed the most attention was the sleek and impressive Optimus humanoid robots, who were quick to become the showstoppers.

As per reports, Musk called these robots ‘nearly limitless’ and claimed that they would be able to do ‘anything’. And judging by this video going viral, it seems like Musk wasn’t ‘baiting’ anyone with such bizarre claims. The clip in question showed a man conversing with one of the Optimus robots, where the bot sounded realistically human in all the ways possible. From gestures to tones and even the voice, everything made the bot sound like a regular human. The resemblance was to the point where most netizens refused to believe that there was no one controlling the robot from behind the screen.

The video has been floating on social media ever since it was shared. Most people found it hard to believe that the robot had no one operating it from behind, while the rest expressed their concerns about the advancement of AI. A few also lauded the innovative event and the technological advancements.

The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘teslaownersSV’. The post was captioned, “Hanging out and talking with @Tesla_Optimus.” The video was shared a few days ago, and pulled more than 1M views.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “There's no way the speech and listening is AI. The inference is so slow in comparison. It would have been nice to hear what parts of the Optimus demos were autonomous, remote-controlled, or preprogrammed. So that we don't have to guess,” a user said. “Kinda awkward for the teleoperator to engage in conversation lol,” added another.

“I presume there’s a human operating it remotely?” added a third person. “The voice is definitely tele-operated. No way that a chatbot running in real-time,” commented a fourth person. “It has to be teleoperated. Still absolutely amazing,” commented a fifth person. “To think that this is just the beginning is crazy. The body language and movements are already realistic,” added a sixth person.
