Meesho 9-Day Break: In a country like India, where labour laws are a ‘joke’ as per many, a nation where incidents of employees dying out of work pressure is making it into headlines, and an economy where mega personalities are suggesting to work 70 hours a week, the popular online shopping and reselling site Meesho turned out to be a ‘beacon of hope’ for young working populous. Why, you ask? Well, the site ended up impressing many as it announced a 9-day break for its employees, that will be exclusively for ‘Reset And Recharge’. As per the announcement by the site, the break will begin on October 26 and will go until November 03. Talk about the holiday bonus!

As soon as the decision went viral on social media, netizens dubbed it a perfect example of how organisations should treat their employees. The fact that the break came during the festive season of Navratri, Dussehra, Diwali, and more, only made it further valuable for Desis. What was further commendable was that, as per Meesho, this is the 4th consecutive year for the company to go on such a break. The perk also looked like a ‘perfect present’ for employees after the site’s ‘successful’ Mega Blockbuster Sale.

The announcement was shared on LinkedIn, which read, “No laptops, Slack messages, emails, meetings, or stand-up calls, nothing work-related for 9 days! We're heading into our 4th consecutive company-wide ‘Reset and Recharge’ break from October 26th to November 3rd. After the efforts put into this year and our successful Mega Blockbuster Sale, it's time to fully unplug and focus on ourselves. This break is for us to recharge our minds and bodies for a fresh and energized start to the year ahead!” The post was shared 2 days ago and pulled more than 20K reactions.
