What started as a normal office day suddenly turned into a wild internet story about how one clever employee used AI to fool his own HR team and grab a paid day off. The trick was so convincing that it left social media users shocked and laughing at the same time. Instead of actually getting hurt, the employee tried something unusual. He took a clear photo of his perfectly fine hand and used Google’s newly updated Nano Banana AI image tool to add fake injuries.
Within seconds, the AI created a wound that looked so real it could easily pass for a medical emergency. Once the fake injury image was ready, he sent it straight to his office HR team with a dramatic message. He wrote, "While coming to the office, I fell from my bike and got injured. I need to visit the doctor for bandaging, and I won’t be able to come in today. I request paid leave for today, please."
The HR executive replied with concern and said they would check with a senior. When the employee added urgency, HR soon came back with a caring response, "Don’t worry. Please go to the doctor and get the dressing done. I had a word with Vishal sir; your paid leave for today is approved. Take care and rest well." The plan worked perfectly, and the leave was granted without any doubt.

An employee took a clean photo of his hand — no injury, nothing.
He opened Gemini Nano and typed:
“apply an injury on my hand.”
In seconds, AI generated a hyper-realistic wound:
sharp, detailed, medically believable.
He sent it to HR saying he… pic.twitter.com/wZw9zk1Wva
The entire incident later shared on X (formerly Twitter) BY '@kapilansh_twt' with a caption: "AI just broke HR verification. An employee took a clean photo of his hand, no injury, nothing. He opened Gemini Nano and typed: ‘Apply an injury on my hand.’ In seconds, AI generated a hyper-realistic wound: sharp, detailed, medically believable. He sent it to HR, saying he ‘fell from his bike.’ HR saw the photo, felt bad, and instantly approved his paid leave. Here’s the crazy part: There was no accident. No wound. Only an AI-generated injury."
As soon as the post went live, people rushed to the comment section with mixed reactions. Some were amazed by how powerful AI has become, while others called it risky and irresponsible. One user wrote, "Where I live, to get paid leave you need a signed medical report from a doctor. If the doctor says you’re fit to work, then you’re good to work." "This is exactly why HR, insurance & compliance teams need AI-powered verification. You can’t fight 2025 problems with 2010 tools," a second user wrote.
"Employees shouldn’t have to do this. Insurance companies already have doctors in the loop," wrote a third user. "If your company asks for proof when you need to take a sick leave or unplanned leave, you are working in the wrong company," added another user.
