Expecting perks at a job is quite a common and sensible thing to do. In fact, a job with better perks and incentives plays a much bigger role in the decision-making process of a potential employee these days. But everything has a limit and this particular employee with a CTC of Rs 43 lakh, surely threw those very ‘limits’ out for a toss. Taking to social media, Grapevine CEO Saumil, shared a Grapevine post by an employee looking for a job. For those unaware, Grapevine is an app for career discussions. The said employee posted about their job search, but with a ‘bizarre’ expectation. As per the Grapevine post, the person was looking for a company that would provide free ‘high protein’ meals. 

The CEO’s post with a screenshot of the Grapevine post went viral in no time and left people reacting from left, right, and centre. Most dubbed the request a ‘crib’ that was a bit too much for someone with Rs 43 lakh CTC. 

The post was shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), on Saumil’s official handle. The caption read, “I rarely see people with so much clarity about their priorities and future choices. His reason to get his next job is simple: good food. The whole discussion is quite good, 68 comments.”

The video, soon after getting shared, went viral on social media. Most people criticised the employee for ‘cribbing’ over something that could be solved easily with the type of ‘CTC’ the user had, while the rest found the complaint hilarious and shared jokes on the same. The post was shared yesterday and pulled 79K views from people.

Taking to the comment box, people shared their take. “I’m guessing he’s a vegetarian,” a user said. “Highlight: ctc 43 lakhs. Problem: food cost is high,” commented a second person. “The person's current salary and his/her concern is making me question my life's choices,” wrote a third user. “4.3 years and ctc 43.5 Lpa- still the man has complaints. Great,” said another. 

“He should join Zomato.. they will take care of him,” jokes a fifth person. “Even after earning 43 lakhs, if he is finding food cost high, then thooo in this person,” criticised the sixth. “With this CTC, he can open his own fitness brand,” commented a seventh person. 

“<5 yr experience and 43L CTC hence the massive layoffs,” added another. “What bs is that even? Hiring a maid and grocery will cost 20k in India, that’s just 2.4L a year, he’s making 20 times that,” said another.
