There are fans and then there are ‘bhakts’, and this man, in particular, definitely falls into the latter category. A fan hailing from Tamil Nadu’s Madurai, Karthik, took ‘fan worship’ to another level after he built a temple for South Indian sensation Rajinikanth. Putting the superstar’s statue weighing 250 Kg at the middle of the structure, the man filled the rest of the temple’s walls with Rajinikanth’s pictures and posters. The well-decorated temple spoke volumes of the admiration that the fan had for the actor. A video of the same was shared on social media, which instantly went viral on the internet. As soon as the video went online, people began to react to the fan and shared their take. From some calling him a ‘crazy fan’ to others dubbing it ‘too much’, netizens had a lot to say.

The video was shared on the social media site X (formerly Twitter) on the official handle of the news agency ANI. The agency also spoke to the man who called Rajinikanth a ‘God’ for his family. “I don't watch any other actors' movies except Rajinikanth. For us, he is God so I made a temple for him. I love Rajinikanth. We have been Rajinikanth fans for five generations in our family,” he was quoted as saying to ANI.
