Firecrackers Ban In India: With Diwali just around the corner, the excitement among people is higher than the rocket firecrackers that often take over the skies on the day of the festival. However, what comes after, has unfortunately become something so common, that many have stopped addressing it altogether- Air Pollution. But the fact that the nation, especially the Delhi-NCR region, has already turned into a ‘gas chamber’, was not hidden from the Supreme Court as it passed an order regarding the same. With a gentle reminder about Diwali being a festival of ‘lights’, the Supreme Court on November 07, reiterated its ‘ban’ order on the use of firecrackers, and said that it will be followed ‘all across the nation’.

However, the order by a bench of justices AS Bopanna and MM Sundresh clarified that the use of barium and banned chemicals in firecrackers is regulated all across the country and it is not a complete ban on firecrackers.

As soon as the reports regarding SC’s decision went viral, the netizens were quick to react to it in their own ways. From sharing memes to downright criticising the SC’s order, people filled the internet with reactions. The ‘nation-wide ban’ order was clarified when the court was reportedly addressing an application on the ban and its directions to the State of Rajasthan.

Taking to the internet, people shared their views. Most people opposed the latest decision and shared posts against it, while some opted for memes and jokes to get their points across. Some netizens also went overboard and criticised SC for the decision.
