The popular online shopping app is facing major heat after one of its delivery agents went viral for his questionable behaviour toward an elderly. Taking to the internet, an internet user narrated about an incident where her father received an online order from Flipkart. However, when the elderly man was unable to give the OTP to the agent, the agent began to misbehave with him. Sharing the ordeal, the woman further explained that the agent began to taunt her father and said, “Kuch aata nahi hai toh order kyun karte ho! (Why do you order stuff if you don't know how to do anything!).” The post instantly went viral and left the netizens angry against Flipkart.
The post was shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘gharkakabutar’. The post read, “Dad ordered something from Flipkart and he wasn’t able to find the OTP on his phone so the delivery guy got angry at him and said “Kuch aata nahi hai toh order kyun karte ho!” Never ordered anything from them again. This is not how you talk to customers.”

As the post began to do rounds on social media, it also came to the notice of Flipkart itself. Assuring action, the platform asked to send the order details. “We take such incidents very seriously and are deeply sorry to hear about the executive's misconduct. Give us a chance to fix this by sharing your order details via DM to keep your Flipkart account information safe,” the response read.

The post immediately went viral, as most people were left irked over the agent’s handling of the situation. Many also pointed out that the agent should be blamed for the situation, rather than Flipkart. Rest chastised the agent's behaviour and tagged Flipkart in the comments so that the site could take action. The post was shared yesterday and pulled 170K views from people.
Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Being rude to the elderly is the worst thing one can do. Customer or no customer one should have basic respect at least. pagal log,” a user said. “It's not Flipkart. it's about the delivery boy's attitude. The same guy will deliver Amazon packages. as they use same people,” added next. “People have this mentality of demeaning others whenever possible, sad that it happened with uncle too,” commented next. “Flipkart does so much scam and then doesn't give you your money back. So poor customer service. Better to buy from other appliances,” said next.
“No honestly why do they need OTP when u have already paid I feel product of low value shouldn't require OTP. Yes, agreed bc suppose you're not home who will give OTP?” added next.
