Delhi Woman Viral Post: Late one evening in Delhi, a woman’s calm journey home on the Metro turned into a tense and scary ordeal. She quickly realised she was being followed by two men, sparking fear and forcing her to rely on quick thinking and help from a nearby police officer. Sharing her story on Reddit, the woman explained that she got on the Delhi Metro from Rajiv Chowk around 10 PM after work, expecting a regular trip home. But as she stepped off at her stop, she noticed two men trailing behind her closely. “At first, I thought maybe they were headed the same way,” she said, “so I didn’t pay much attention. But even after I changed my path and crossed the road, they were still there.”

The situation worsened when she noticed the men matching her pace. “I started panicking and walked faster… they did the same,” she wrote. Feeling scared, she spotted a police constable near an auto stand and quickly told him, “Sir, please don’t go, I think I’m being followed.” The officer stayed with her. He looked back, saw the two men, and asked me to stand beside him. The guys suddenly turned around and walked away fast. I don’t even want to think what could have happened if that cop wasn’t there."
She chose not to reveal the exact station for safety but wanted to warn others: “I truly felt unsafe in public, and I just wanted to say, please don’t ignore these instincts. If something feels off, it probably is. Always trust your gut and don’t hesitate to reach out for help.”

Her post sparked strong reactions online, with many expressing frustration over the everyday risks women face, while others praised her for speaking out and encouraging everyone to stay safe. One user wrote, "Yes, don't hesitate to reach out. Even if the police are not around. You can always seek help from random strangers in such situations. Mostly, people around you would be willing to help if sought."

"Every time I come across a post like this, a part of me loses hope in our society. It's heartbreaking and infuriating that so many women have to live with this constant fear, even during something as normal as commuting home from work. The fact that you had to second-guess your surroundings, take a detour, and eventually seek out a police constable just to feel safe is a damning reflection of the environment we've created," a second user added. "Thank god he was there, sister. I really hope that you never have to deal with such creeps ever again," added a third user.
"I am so sorry this happened to you, OP, and I am glad you're safe, but I am curious to know what happened then? Did the officer catch those guys?" a fourth user asked. "In these conditions always try to reach out to any old woman who is near you or any couple or family. Btw, this is really scary. Stay strong," added another user.
