Amritsar Viral Video: A video from Amritsar has caught everyone’s attention online, showing a foreign tourist stepping in to protect his wife from unwanted attention in public. The clip features Alex Wanders confronting a man who allegedly got too close to his wife, content creator Ameana and asked for her phone number while they waited for an Uber. According to the couple, the man approached Ameana on the roadside, ignoring her personal space, even with her husband standing nearby. Feeling uneasy, Ameana immediately started recording the incident, capturing Alex confronting the man.
Sharing the video on Instagram, Alex wrote, “This is the moment I confronted him, he suddenly forgot English, even though two seconds earlier he was speaking it perfectly. Maybe better me. How is this seen as acceptable in modern-day India?"
In the footage, Alex can be heard asking the man, “Why are you asking for her phone number? What you did is very strange. You are very strange. You approach a random female by herself and ask for her phone number within two seconds; that’s very strange. Yeah, you shouldn’t do that again, ok. You are a bit crazy.”
The man tried to defend himself, saying he was a student and referring to Ameana as his “sister,” before walking away without further incident. The video has since gone viral, sparking outrage as many people criticised the man’s behaviour. Amritsar Police also took notice, commenting on the post and asking the couple to provide more details about the incident.

The video shared on Instagram just a day ago pulled 342k views from people online. "Guys, please share this video to raise awareness and also it will help other people avoid this man," a user wrote. "Guys, please dont leave your girl alone in India. There is no safety," a second user wrote. "Game is game. If he gets rejected, he gets rejected but don’t shame the man for trying," a third user wrote humorously.
"I am sorry for this, while I don't justify his behaviour but I can explain why he behaved so, so many men or women in India don't have the etiquette on how to interact or approach a woman, or a man for that matter, there is no conditioning at all because there is no exposure at all, they also lack empathy, there is a huge educational gap for that matter unfortunately," added a fourth user.
