Nano Banana AI Saree Trend: Instagram has been buzzing with a new AI-powered craze, Google Gemini’s 'Nano Banana AI Retro saree' trend, which turns regular photos into glamorous 90s Bollywood-inspired pictures. With chiffon sarees, glowing retro filters and dreamy backgrounds, the trend has taken over feeds everywhere. But for one user, the fun experiment quickly turned into a chilling experience. Instagram user JhalakBhawnani shared her story online, calling it “unsettling.” She explained, “A trend is going viral on Instagram where you upload your image to Gemini with a single prompt and Gemini converts it into a saree. Last night, I tried this trend myself and found something very unsettling.”

She uploaded a picture of herself in a green full-sleeve suit and added the prompt. The AI-generated edit looked beautiful at first, so much so that she even posted it on her account. But then she noticed something that shocked her. “I found this image very attractive and even posted it on my Instagram. But then I noticed something strange: there is a mole on my left hand in the generated image, which I actually have in real life. The original image I uploaded did not have a mole,” she wrote.

Her biggest concern was how the AI seemed to pick up a detail that wasn’t even visible in the original picture. “How did Gemini know that I have a mole on this part of my body? You can see the mole; it’s very scary and creepy. I’m still not sure how this happened, but I wanted to share this with all of you. Please be careful. Whatever you upload on social media or AI platforms, make sure you stay safe,” she warned.

Watch The Viral Video:

The video shared just a day ago pulled more than 4 million views from Instagram users. Users had mixed reactions to the viral video. "This Gemini is not making my face properly and making girls' mole too," a user wrote. "Best option is to dress up in a saree and click some nice candid pictures yourself," a second user advised.

"Best option is to never share your personal pic with Gemini," wrote a third user. "Well, that is exactly how AI works. AI draws information from your digital footprint, from all the images that u have been uploading online. So when u ask an AI to generate an image, it is going to also use your uploads from the past. Your mole is visible in your other pictures. It is good to be careful. AI is not really the problem; our over-sharing of our own information is the problem," added a fourth user.
