Foreign Tourists Viral Video: Kolkata’s street food is famous around the world for its strong flavours, variety and affordability. From spicy chaats to tangy golgappas, locals and tourists alike enjoy these treats every day. But the city’s beloved streets sometimes spark debates about cleanliness. A recent video by a travel vlogger duo has brought this discussion back into the spotlight after they tried the city’s iconic dahi puchka.
In the video, one of the travellers admitted, “I can’t risk my life, unfortunately.” He explained in the caption, “$0.34 street food in Kolkata, India. I normally LOVE pani puri so I decided to try DahiPuchka, which seemed very similar! After seeing how it was prepared, I couldn’t bring myself to try it, sorry. We did try giving it away to stop food waste, but unfortunately, no one wanted it. P.S. The man was absolutely lovely.”
