Legendary Singer Pankaj Udhas Passes Away: The Indian cinema and the music industry woke up to a downhearted day today, February 26, as it lost one of its most celebrated playback and Ghazal singers, Pankaj Udhas. The legendary singer passed away at the age of 72, leaving his loved ones and fans saddened by the demise. The announcement of the singer’s demise was made on social media. His daughter, Nayaab Udhas, shared a post announcing the sad news, which immediately went viral and massed countless reactions. The singer took his last breath in a hospital in Mumbai. As per his daughter’s post, the legend died due to a ‘prolonged illness’. 

“With a very heavy heart, we are saddened to inform you of the sad demise of Padma Shri Pankaj Udhas on February 26 due to a prolonged illness,” the said post read.

As soon as the post went viral, mass reactions began to make their way on social media. From grieving fans and close ones to prominent personalities, many extended their condolences over the loss. Many of his photos and videos also took over the internet as people reshared the same. 

Taking to the internet, people shared their take. Many also dubbed him one of the last ‘Ghazal nightingales’, who took the genre to another level in Indian history. The rest prayed for his family and his friends.
