Viral Video: It sure was a subject that was introduced early to almost every student, yet General Knowledge is not exactly the strongest of subjects when it comes to most people, especially among teens or young adults. And these youngsters, somewhat exemplified the same when they confused India’s National Anthem with the country’s National Song. However, despite all of them being horribly wrong, it was this one girl who stole the spotlight, not exactly for a ‘bright’ reason. Answering to the question- who wrote India’s National song- the young woman said it was singer Arijit Singh.

A video of the said candid interviews went viral almost immediately, as netizens were left ‘too stunned to speak’. For those unaware, India’s National Song is Vande Mataram, which was composed by Bankimchandra Chatterji.

The video was shared on social media platform Instagram, by the handle ‘crazy__shikhu’. The post was captioned, “Arijit Singh. Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay must be crying in heaven somewhere.” The video was shared two days ago and pulled 281K views from people.

The video went viral almost immediately, and left people somewhat speechless. Many mocked the girl and her answer while cracking jokes on the same, while the rest commented the correct answer, along with its history in the Constitution.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Bro people don't even know about the national anthem? Where are we heading as a country,” a user said. “Perfect candidates to hold protesting placards with no knowledge of what they are protesting against,” added a second person.

“Wtf…in what direction youths are heading?” asked a third person. “Bankim Chandra Chatterjee. Vande Mataram On 24 January 1950, the Constituent Assembly of India, has adopted Vande Mataram as a national song. But she said Arijit Singh, what…hey bhagwan,” commented a fourth user. “National song: Vande Mataram. Composer: Bankim Chandra Chatterjee. (Every serious class 10 passed student must know this),” added another.
