Gujarat Viral Video: Videos highlighting civic sense often grab attention online, and now a similar clip is making waves on social media. In the latest viral video, a Gujarati man is seen eating food while sitting on the floor at Surat airport along with his friends. According to a report, the man has been identified as Gujarati actor Hitesh Thakkar.

In the video, Hitesh Thakkar is shown sitting cross-legged on the airport floor with a newspaper spread out in front of him, enjoying khaman, a famous Gujarati snack. He is surrounded by his friends, and all of them are seen sitting and eating together on the floor.

Speaking in Gujarati, he says, "We don’t see the place when it comes to eating. This is Surat Airport, and my friends got delicious khaman. We are sitting on the floor and eating before boarding our flight to Pattaya, Thailand." The video has sparked a fresh debate about civic sense and public behaviour in India.

The viral video was shared on X (Formerly Twitter) by the user '@AgentSaffron.' The post was captioned, "Proud of this Indian uncle who upheld his traditional diet and eating style at the airport gate before boarding a flight to Bangkok. Be proud of your roots." The video shared yesterday pulled 3.2 million views from people.

This is not it. Monk Entertainment CEO Viraj Sheth also shared the video on the X and said, "Gujaratis need to learn social etiquette and cues. We have the means and resources to learn it. Get out of your comfort zone and stop shoving terrible manners under the garb of being rooted. We have the business acumen, the street smarts, and the work ethic to represent India on a global stage."

"Stop eating only Gujarati food when you travel abroad. Experience different cultures, cuisines, and traditions. Open your mind up. dress well. Speak well. interact with people from all countries. Don’t fall for this “be proud of your roots” crap. You can be proud of your roots without having to be insecure enough to keep flaunting them everywhere," the post further reads.

Taking to the comment section, people had mixed reactions. One user wrote, "I am also proud of my eating habits and will encourage to do it. But, no, this uncle is not doing good; it is this kind of encouragement that helps people make bad decisions. Do this at your home or at the right place. Boarding gate is not your home and not a restaurant." "Nothing to be proud of doing dehaati shit in foreign land," a second user added. "What was it? Eating with his hands or defecating in the corridors," added a third user.

Not many users were against this, some supported him. "Most people don’t appreciate the extra swad that comes from newspaper ink. These are 1000-year-old traditions that must be kept alive," a user wrote. "I think there’s nothing wrong with living with their choices. Gujarati people are really smart; they always think about money and health," another user added.
