Mumbai Viral Video: The otherwise dangerous for ‘walking’, Mumbai local train’s railway tracks, seemingly turned into a footway after Mumkbaikars began to casually walk on the tracks to reach their destinations. The bizarre incident unfolded today, July 24, when reportedly a disruption in the high-tension overhead wire ended up halting the services for almost an hour at 7:25 AM. Losing their patience, the commuters resorted to walking from Matunga to Sion as the trains stopped. A video of people in thousands walking on the tracks was shared on social media, which went viral.
As per reports, a bamboo structure fell on the said wire. The services were reportedly restored at 8:20 AM. As the video went viral, it gained a mixed reaction. Most people were against the commuters as walking on train tracks is ‘risky’, while the rest mocked the authorities for the failure. Some dubbed the incident a result of a ‘lack of patience’ in Mumbaikers.
The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘vivekagnihotri’. The post was captioned, “Mumbaikars walking on railway tracks to reach their office due to failure of local train service. Just ask a simple question: Can you even imagine the torture of citizens like this in any civilised country?” The post was shared today and pulled 349K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Tax them for walking. Problem solved,” a user said. “Yes, ask French! Problem with Mumbaikar is, they don't have patience....it's more dangerous to walk on the tracks than waiting for some time for railways to fix the train,” added a second person.
“They must not have paid their taxes on time, very bad. How can you expect gov to provide good services? Fault is on you, not gov,” added a third person. “It is indeed distressing to see such situations. Infrastructure failures need urgent attention to ensure reliable public transportation for all. How can we hold authorities accountable for consistent service?” said a fourth.
