Elderly Woman Viral Video: A video has gone viral on the internet, showing an elderly woman from Chhattisgarh’s Rajnandgaon district breaking down after a Peepal tree she had planted 20 years ago was cut down. Every day, she watered it, prayed beneath its shade and watched it grow. But one heartbreaking morning, the tree was cut down, leaving behind only a stump and a flood of tears. A video capturing this painful moment has now moved the entire internet.

In the viral video, the woman is seen sobbing beside the remains of the tree she had nurtured for decades. Locals said she shared a deep emotional bond with it and believed it was part of her faith. When it was cut down, she couldn’t bear the sight; she clung to the stump and cried uncontrollably, while others around her also grew emotional.

The heart-touching scene has spread rapidly across social media, with thousands expressing sorrow and outrage. The clip was shared on X and it was captioned, “This is such a heart-wrenching scene! Watch The Viral Video:

The video, shared two days ago, has received 300k views from people. The video received many reactions from X users. "That’s very sad to see. Let’s hope the state government will help compensate the woman by planting more trees and using the wood from the fallen tree to make a table or a seating bench," a user wrote. "By looking at the video, I’m sure the tree is a lot more than 20 years old," a second user wrote.

"That’s heartbreaking for sure, but if it is done for some economic activities, then I guess it should be fine," wrote a third user. "So many memories, sentiments & emotions connected with old trees. Many stood tall long before our birth & will still stand when we have passed. Peepal trees, especially, are considered sacred & are tied to many festivals and rituals," added a fourth user.

"Such trees should be treated like ancient heritage monuments. They define space. Find a way around them. Since the stump is intact, it will grow again. Built over the stump, the building will break," added another user. "Forest, trees & fauna are revered by tribal & local population … We must be sensitive to their empathy. Soul touching," another user wrote.
