Ek Machhali Paani Mein Gayi Chappak: It seems like Instagram has recently turned into a giant pond as netizens are hell-bound in ‘flooding’ the social media platform with ‘Machhaliya (Fishes)’. Confused? Well, Allow us to explain. So for those who are unaware, there is a fun game that is doing rounds on the internet, which is spreading faster than a wildfire. The game in question, sounds much like the title of a typical nursery poem; ‘Ek Machhali Paani Mein Gayi Chappak’. And as the name suggests, it has a lot to do with fish and water. But before we let you in on this ‘aquatic’ trend, let’s take a look at its possible origin.
Possible Origin:
Although the exact origin of the game is largely unknown, but according to some, the game was shared on an Instagram reel by the user Maan Tomar. In the said video, the man was seen playing the game with his friends, where they were evidently having a time of their lives. Now, with that being clear, let’s take a look at how the game is played.
Gameplay:
So the game might not be like rocket science, but is still confusing enough that it has become a viral ‘game’ for that very reason. The game is played between multiple players, with the first one beginning with ‘Ek machhali (One fish)’. The second player then goes on to say ‘Paani mein gayi (went into the water)’, followed by the third player saying ‘Chappak’, which is basically the sound that the said fish made with its dive. Now, the fourth player will start with ‘Do machhali (Two fishes)’, after which the fifth and sixth players will repeat ‘Paani mein gayi’ twice, as there are two fishes now. And just like that, the game will continue until a winner is left. The rules are also very simple, as the player who will stammer or will say the wrong sentence will be considered out.
Soon after the video began to go viral, more and more netizens joined in and shared reels playing the same.
