'I Feel Like A Ghost': Bengaluru Woman Shares Heartbreaking Struggle With Loneliness At Work And PG

Bengaluru Woman Viral Reddit Post: Life in a busy city can look exciting from the outside, but for many, it can feel painfully lonely. A young software development engineer from Bengaluru recently opened up on Reddit about her struggle with isolation, and her post has struck a chord with thousands. Using the handle @Confident-Floor-2943, she shared how, despite landing a full-time role after her internship, her personal life has started to feel empty and disconnected.

Her close friends have moved away, leaving her PG room quiet and lifeless. “Even when I cry or laugh, no one notices. I feel like a ghost,” she wrote. The loneliness doesn’t stop at PG; it follows her to work. As the only woman on a male-dominated team, she feels excluded and overlooked, pointing out that a male colleague who joined at the same time was treated very differently. “The guys treat me very differently. They do not acknowledge me or include me in trivial things,” she said, adding that with senior staff leaving, she gets little guidance from her leads.

The city’s traffic makes meeting people harder, and her days feel increasingly heavy. “Even if I’m crying or laughing or shouting, they won't bat an eye. I feel like I might have a breakdown,” she confessed. Her honesty drew a wave of empathy online, with many sharing similar experiences of being ignored and feeling invisible in big cities like Bengaluru.

"It's alright eventually, you will learn to cope. Anyways, try joining some community or going to some random meetups," a user wrote. "Make money in Bangalore and invest in yourself, bro. Travel the world. Pursue some good hobbies. Keep yourself fit. Work life tends to get lonely no matter where you are," a second user wrote.

"I am about to join a company and first time relocating to Bangalore. Kinda feeling the same since my buddies also have an office kinda far. Cheer up, with time you will be socialising very good," added a third user. "I'm here for 4 years now, and even I feel the same. You are alone. The city has become very depressing from the core," added a fourth user.
