India-Made Metro In Mauritius Viral Video: A video showing a metro station in Mauritius has taken over the internet, and it's not the train itself that’s shocking people, but how clean and disciplined everything looks. From spotless platforms to passengers patiently standing in queues, the scene has left many Indians wondering, 'Why don’t we see this back home?' The video was shared by a user on X (formerly Twitter), who revealed that the Mauritius Metrolite Project was actually sponsored by the Indian government and built by the Indian company L&T.

In the clip, the metro smoothly arrives in Port Louis, the capital city, while passengers stand neatly on both sides of the doors, allowing others to get off first before boarding. The quiet, orderly atmosphere surprised many online viewers. What’s adding fuel to the debate is that this world-class metro was not just built by Indian hands, but designed by an Indian firm too, the Systra Group. The same companies often work on metro projects in India, yet the results here are rarely this clean or calm.

Many people online are now saying that while we build top-class infrastructure abroad, our real problem lies in how we treat it at home. From blaming poor civic sense to corruption, the internet is full of opinions. One user wrote, “So we clearly know how to do it — we just don’t care enough when it’s for ourselves.” "Proud to witness Indian companies forging strong global partnerships and strengthening bilateral ties with nations worldwide. Built by L&T and supported by the Government of India, this is Make in India going global," a second user added.

"Indian infra without corruption and with some civic sense can still work," added a third user. "This is an example of how Indian engineering can transform the urban landscape. It also shows what we could achieve in India if we had better civic sense and maintenance," added a fourth user. "So they purposefully build bad stuff in India, hence proved," wrote another user.

"See how beautifully things are presented there and how clean those places are, it's the responsibility of people to keep places clean," a sixth user added. "Everyone is years ahead of India. And we are still competing with Bhikaristan and Kangludesh," added another user. "This shows our potential, skills, and also shows why, with the same L&T, when projects are done back home, we have issues... Vande Bharat gets stoned," added another user.
