Viral Video: An Indian entrepreneur recently shared a shocking story about hiring someone who tricked her company, and the video has gone viral online. Arshia Kaur, founder of Tint Cosmetics, posted on Instagram about how a new employee fooled them with fake documents. In November last year, the company was looking for a marketing head to handle growth, advertising, and e-commerce. They found a candidate through a founder’s group whose resume looked good and even passed a background check, so they decided to hire him.

But problems started quickly. Within a month, the employee had trouble communicating, left many tasks unfinished, and created extra work for the team. Even after several warnings, he didn’t improve, so the company had to fire him. When they checked his documents again, they found the salary slips were fake. "Turns out he worked 31 out of 31 days, with no leaves, which means he also worked on Saturdays and Sundays," Arshia said. The slips had no official stamps or signatures and looked like they were made in Excel.

Before giving his final settlement, the team asked him for bank statements to prove his past salary. He replied vaguely, saying much of it had been paid in cash.

Arshia said this was a big lesson for the company. "It is so important to do your due diligence and ask the right questions early," she added, ending with a warning: "Please don’t learn the hard way we did." The story has sparked discussion online, with many agreeing that hiring the wrong person can cause a lot of trouble for any business.

The post received many comments and views from social media users. One user wrote, "We conduct a 2-hour interview after the technical round, and the whole agenda is to cross-question them so thoroughly that they eventually fumble on the numbers and get caught. These days, people with just 6 months of experience demand 10 LPA, and some jump from 3 LPA straight to 8 LPA."

"I know it's a horrid situation. Try having a professional hr recruitment firm that will do all the checks and background work to get you the honest and high-quality talent! We do this for all our clients. Let me know if we can help. I hope you guys get the best talent to work with," a second user wrote. "The most pathetic generation for jobs," added another user.
