Israel-Hamas War: Putting humanity to shame, countless heart-wrenching stories and incidents are continuing to surface on the internet and in media reports as the Israel and Hamas war enters its 83rd day since its beginning. Amid all this, another ordeal of an ill-fated mother came forward, which left social media in tears and pain. A 28-year-old Gazan woman, Iman al-Masry, gave birth to quadruplets after walking for five kilometres in search of a hospital, reported the news agency AFP.
The 28-year-old was just 6 months pregnant when she ran from her home, Beit Hanun, along with her three children, with the hope that the attacks would stop in a week or two. However, the misery that began on October 07, is still far from over, while the death toll has reportedly crossed the 20,000 mark.
The poor family of four, along with unborn quadruplets, embarked on the deadly journey before they found a hospital. Calling the distance ‘too long’, the woman narrated her ordeal. “The distance was too long,” she was quoted as saying to AFP. The struggling mother, as per AFP reports, then gave birth to four premature children; two daughters and two sons on December 18. To add further misfortune to the otherwise celebratory occasion, one of her newly born sons was too weak to leave the hospital.
The premature kids were welcomed in a war-torn nation by a C-Section, where the family then had to soon leave the hospital due to a lack of space for other patients. Leaving the weak child in the Nuseirat refugee camp’s hospital due to his dire health condition, the rest of the family took shelter in Deir al-Balah at a ‘schoolroom turned shelter’, as per AFP. “Mohammed weighs only one kilogram (2.2 pounds). He cannot survive,” the poor mother was quoted saying to AFP as she opened up about her fourth newborn.

The deadly Israel and Hamas war was triggered on October 07, when the terrorist organisation launched an attack on Israel, and left the country with a loss of 1,140 lives, reportedly. After the first attack, Israel launched a retaliation attack at the Hamas-occupied Gaza, which has not stopped ever since. The war has also drawn major flak and world-wide protests against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli government.
