Karnataka Parents Viral Video: In a touching act of support, a family in Bagalkote, Karnataka, celebrated their son, Abhishek’s failure in the Class 10 exams by cutting a cake to lift his spirits. Abhishek scored 200 out of 625 marks, which was not enough to pass, but instead of scolding him, his parents chose to encourage him.
A viral video shows the family feeding the boy a cake with “220/625” written on it. His parents comfort him with smiles and words of encouragement, telling him not to be upset. His father reassures him by saying, “It’s okay that you didn’t pass. You tried, and now you can study harder with my support.”
The viral video shared on X (Formerly Twitter) by the handle '@PTI_News' shows Abhishek's sister, grandmother, and other relatives joining in the celebration along with his parents. Many people online have praised the family for their positive response, while others were quick to criticise him, saying parents should know why their son failed.

One user wrote, "First, did they check why he failed?? Did he really study, or was he roaming with his friends? This will not boost his morale but give him assurance his parents are ok matter what he does!!" "Dear parents, understand your feelings, but please don't embarrass the child. Please make sure by doing this with him, he should not feel humiliated!" added a second user. "And that's how we raise a weak generation. Boosting morale is good, making them prepare whole year, and making them mentally strong should have been the goal, not celebrating failure on camera," wrote a third user.
"This is called wokeism. Parenting used to be different in India. Wokeism has been lurking in India since 1970, because of Indian cinema, Leftism, and Westernization. Cultures, rituals, and traditions are being discarded in the name of open-mindedness. Could've been dealt it differently," a fourth user added. "I can see how emotional Teddy bear Children are produced by Parents these days," commented another user.
