Days after a woman was swept away by a wave in Mumbai, a video of a man slipping into a waterfall before being swept away by the water is going viral on social media. Reportedly, the man was recording a reel in Karnataka's rain-hit Udupi district Sunday evening when the incident took place. The entire accident has also been captured on camera.

The man identified as Sharath Kumar, 23, was a resident of Bhadravathi and he slipped watching a waterfall Arashinagundi waterfall near Kollur in Baindur taluq. Despite launching a search operation, the police were not able to trace him.

According to the police, the victim had come to Kollur in a car with friends and had gone to enjoy the scenic waterfall following copious rainfall in the region. The preliminary probe revealed that while Sharath was watching and enjoying the waterfall, his friend was capturing it. However, the victim who seems to be firmly standing on the rock, suddenly lost his balance and falls into the river within a fraction of a second.

Following heavy rains in coastal areas, all rivers and waterbodies have crossed danger levels, and residents have been urged not to go near them.

Earlier in a similar incident, a woman, who was sitting on a rock with her husband to get a picture clicked, was swept away by the waves. In the video that went viral, loud screams of the kids shouting "maa", "mumma" could be heard as they helplessly watched her getting swept away.

The family had intended to go to Juhu Chowpatty on the incident day, but due to the high tide, they were unable to access the beach. They chose to proceed in the direction of Bandra after changing their minds.
