LSG Owner Sanjiv Goenka Scolds KL Rahul: Spearheading Sunrisers Hyderabad to one of the fastest and one of the most impressive victories in this season's Indian Premier League, Pat Cummins ended up completely dominating the field during the SRH vs LSG match yesterday, May 08. However, despite the speedy chase by the opposing team, it was Lucknow Super Giants that stole all the headlines, and not exactly for a good reason. After the embarrassing defeat, LSG Owner Sanjiv Goenka was seen publicly scolding captain KL Rahul. A video of the same instantly went viral and ended up with Goenka being on the wrong side of social media.

Most people did not like the way the team owner chose to scrutinise the captain in the open field, while the rest simply compared the exchange with similar incidents that usually take place at regular corporate jobs. The matter also came as a shock to many, who then questioned the team’s conditions ‘behind closed doors’. The internet was soon flooded with similar reactions as Kl Rahul began to receive major support not only from his fans but from some prominent personalities as well.

Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Lucknow Super Giants in yesterday’s match by 10 wickets. LSG is next scheduled to play against Delhi Capitals on May 14, at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium.

A player of such calibre KL Rahul needing to bear the wrath of the team owner on field in national media is depressing to say the least ! #pathetic. U guys are disappointed - we get it ! Talk it out in a team meeting behind closed doors fgs,"a user said.

“KL Rahul appears to be a corporate majdoor meeting with his Boss Goenka for an appraisal. This is unacceptable behaviour,” wrote a second user. 

“We are all passionate about the game. But, this is ridiculous from owners of LSG. Shameful. I have criticised KL Rahul many times in the past. But, full support to KL Rahul now,” added a third person.

“KL Rahul is looking like a corporate employee having appraisal discussion with boss,” added another.

“After this public spat under cameras, I’m sure that KL Rahul is leaving LSG next year. Fine big money’s riding in IPL and understand the frustration as an owner but it speaks volumes about Sanjiv Goenka as a boss!! Never do your dirty laundry in public,” added another.
