Viral Video: Reducing several rooms to ash, a huge fire broke out at a hotel in Jammu and Kashmir’s Gulmarg. However, unlike other cities, due to the lack of fire department’s services, the locals were compelled to step up in attempts to douse off the deadly fire. A video of the same was shared online, which went viral in a blink of an eye. However, more than the fire, what made the clip viral was the fact that the locals were throwing snowballs to calm the flames down. The video not only raised several questions about the fire authorities but also ended up turning into a source of some mean jokes that were shared by many netizens on the internet. 

The date was not confirmed, while no injuries have been reported yet. More details are awaited.

The video was shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘tweetbyfurkan’. The post was captioned, “People throwing snow to dose fire in Gulmarg. This is sad but equally funny at the same time.”

The video, soon after getting shared, went viral on social media. Most people lauded the efforts and also called the technique smart, while the rest cracked jokes on the same. Some also chastised the fire department. The post was shared today and pulled views in hundreds.

Taking to the internet, people shared their take. “Disgraceful! Where are the Fire Fighting Services or even the basic fire fighting equipment that is mandatory for all hotels?” a user said. “Snow being used to extinguish fire in a hotel in Gulmarg amid the chants of Fire service hi hi,” joked another. “For a change, it’s snow not stones but the aim is pretty good!” said another. 

“Unless they use shovels, gonna be useless,” said a fourth person. “All that training did not go to waste,” said a fifth person. “The only Kashmiri throw we can accept,” added a sixth user. “Finally stone pelting skills are coming in handy for good works,” commented a seventh person. “Sad. Need more firefighters in Kashmir. This is the power of the people in Kashmir. Nowhere in this world would you see people like this helping others. Salute,” added another.
