Marathi Language Viral Video: Another shocking language-related clash has surfaced, this time from Ghatkopar in Mumbai, where a woman was reportedly pressured to speak in Marathi. The woman, Sanjira Devi, stood her ground fearlessly and gave a bold reply that’s now being talked about all over social media. As per reports, the incident happened when Sanjira Devi was standing near her home. A group of men was blocking the way, and when she politely asked them to move, they allegedly started abusing her. What happened next left everyone stunned. The men told her, “Marathi mein bolo!”
Unfazed, Sanjira Devi responded firmly, “Main Marathi nahibolungi. Main Hindustani hoon, aur Hindi meinbaatkarrahihoon.” She further questioned them, asking, “Aren’t you Indians too?” In response, the men started shouting “Maharashtra! Maharashtra!” loudly, creating even more chaos.
This incident is part of a growing trend in cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru, where language-based conflicts are becoming more frequent. Many such cases have sparked debates online, raising serious questions about regional identity, national unity, and freedom of speech. The video of this incident is now going viral, with people praising Sanjira Devi for her courage and for standing up for her right to speak the language she’s comfortable in.

"No citizen in India can force another to speak a certain language. The Indian Constitution protects linguistic freedom and diversity. Fundamental rights, particularly Articles 14, 29(1), and 30(1), ensure equality, non-discrimination, and the protection and preservation of linguistic identity for all citizens. Forcing someone to use a specific language would violate these constitutional safeguards. Choices—not compulsion—are at the core of India’s language policy," a fourth user wrote.
"There are more than 1500 languages in India If everyone fights for their languages, it will be difficult to be united in India," a fifth user added. "Bhai sidhabolo..uncle ek teacher bhej do na sham me..1 ghatna de demarathi ka tutionlekin paisa mat mangna," wrote another user.
