Putting the online store company Big Basket under the scanner, a customer took it to social media to share about a questionable incident that he faced with the brand. As per the man’s social media post, he received less than ordered onions from the store, where the order was placed for 1 kg onions. Rushing into action mode, he complained about the same, and eventually received a refund. However, it was what happened after which ticked the customer the wrong way and left the brand in hot water on social media; the man allegedly got blocked by Big Basket. As soon as he was blocked, he took it to social media and also pointed out the high prices of the app with minimal services. As the post went viral, it also received a reply from the company.

The post, after getting shared, went viral and drew a major reaction from netizens. Most netizens joined in on complaining against such poor services, while the rest shared their own similar instances. Many also suggested posting the same on LinkedIn and tagging the CEO.

The video was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘bhavyegoel’. The post was captioned, “That’s 1kg onions for you from @bigbasket_com. I complained ~> and they refunded me and then blocked my account. They charge you like leeches even if 1g is extra and fleecing thousands daily like this.” The post was shared yesterday and pulled 720K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Post this on LinkedIn tagging the CEO,” a user said. “It's a weight loss problem due to water content evaporation,” added a second person. “Avoid ordering non-MRP (Non-packed) stuff from these fast delivery portals. The vegetables, fruits, etc are not fresh and good,” commented a third person.

“Thanks for letting us know. I never weighed because of my blind trust. Forget weighing, I'm going to stop buying groceries from them,” added a fourth user. “It's the same everywhere be it a big basket or Amazon Fresh, they send spoiled veggies and fruits, expired products then a tiring process to get a refund, X they quietly ask for DM and then it's a story,” added another.
