One does not even need to be a parent to understand how difficult the entire childbearing and raising stages are going to be, keeping in mind problematic factors like inflation, increasing crime rate, violence against women, communal conflicts and unrest, poor AQI, and more. All in all, for people who are planning to have kids in the future or are in the process of starting a family, the place where they settle in for their kids’ better future has become a major concern. Raising the same issue, a man took to his social media handle and asked for better cities where he could raise his kids. The man clarified that he is not a parent as of now, but when he becomes one, he wants a good city to settle in.

The man also shared a list of criteria he was looking for. From ‘Low crime, Decent roads, Breathable air’ to ‘Walkable parks, Quality schools, Good healthcare’, the list had many expectations. Needless to say, the post went viral and received many reactions. Most people found the man’s worries reasonable and suggested some Indian cities that might be a good fit, while the rest suggested moving out of India for a better life.

The post was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘BehereBaba’. The post was captioned, “I don't think I can raise my (imaginary, for now) kid(s) in NCR (Air) or MMR or BLR (Water) What are my options now?” The post was shared yesterday and pulled more than 8K views from people.

“My criteria: Low crime, Decent roads, Breathable air, Walkable parks, Quality schools, Good healthcare, Zepto/IM/BI access, No extreme weather, Clean, abundant water, Well-connected airport. Is this too much to ask?” the post further read.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “I think you should think of moving out of the country esp in case you have an imaginary daughter,” a user said. “Consider Vadodara (if you can do self-employment or remote jobs),” added a second person. “Try Surat... It checks almost every requirement :),” added another.

“Don't even care about, zepto/BI, extreme weather atp. Even then I don't think it's possible,” wrote a fourth person. “Gujarat? Pune? Indore? Jaipur?” asked a fifth person. “100 years down the line — there will be a scarcity of water, polluted air, and many other things. We are the most privileged generation that we are able to enjoy most of these natural resources. Our future generation will suffer because of bad policies, because of entropy,” added another. "Do not try Mumbai, Bangalore and more," added next.
