In the last few months, train journeys in India have turned into a ‘headache’ for not only passengers but also for the authorities, as several incidents of ticketless passengers taking over reserved seats have gone viral. However, amid the collective ‘struggles’ of the Indian Railways all across the country, a man went viral for allegedly single-handedly doing something that countless were seemingly ‘itching’ to do. The said man allegedly made around 50 ticketless passengers deboard the Bombay Mail train, while he was travelling from Howrah to Kharagpur.
Taking to social media, the man narrated the entire incident. The man also complained about the passengers to authorities, while they were onboard the train. Rushing into action, the authorities were quick to charge a hefty fine against the ticketless lot. The date of the incident could not be confirmed.
The post, soon after getting shared, began to do rounds on social media. Most people hailed the man for his bravery and quick decision-making, while the rest spoke against the increasing number of instances where ticketless passengers took trains over.
The post was shared on the social media platform Reddit, by the handle ‘yodebu’. The post was titled ‘Yesterday I single-handedly de-boarded about 50 ticketless passengers’. The post was shared yesterday and pulled more than 2K upvotes.
The post’s description, on the other hand, read, “I took the 12810 Bombay Mail from Howrah to Kharagpur. Reserved a sleeper ticket, and I boarded the train. I was chilling at my side lower. An entire family boarded the train. I asked them to get away and then asked for their ticket, but they didn’t have it. I stood my ground and made sure the full family deboards before the train started. A couple came next. Kicked them off too.
I was so angry, I mailed the entire thing to the Rail Madad. Gave strong language feedback. The couple was trying to scare me. At the KGP station, several TTEs came into the compartment and made the ticketless passengers deboard the train. They also fined them heavily. Even that couple was fined. It was a good day making small things right which have been way too wrong for some time now.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “The hero every sleeper coach deserves,” a user said. “Bow down everyone the batman has arrived,” added a second person. “Can I take you along with me for all my sleeper coach rides?” added a third person. “standing your ground and saving your seat against a whole family trying to take it is pretty impressive by itself,” added another.
