Mumbai might be the ‘city of dreams’ for countless Mumbaikars and other Indians wanting to visit and live in the coastal city, but it surely is not the dream of anyone who loves to live in a house that is not a ‘matchbox’- this is not us making ‘bizarre’ claims but is rather how the rest of Indians react over Mumbai apartments and their tiny spaces on social media. Exemplifying something similar, a social media post recently left people speechless over a Mumbai apartment advertisement, where the rent displayed in the ad was a whopping Rs 1.35 lakh for a month. The ad also displayed a deposit of Rs 4 lakh, which was further bizarre. Apart from the rent, what mostly left people confused was the design of the toilet, where the washing machine was attached right above the commode.
The post, after getting shared, went viral and pulled all kinds of jokes. Most people found the advertisement and the design impractical, while the rest dismissed the post calling it a ‘typical Mumbai thing’. Many also shared hilarious jokes on the same.
The post was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘. The post was captioned, “Only in Mumbai, you can front-load your washing machine while top-loading your commode. At an affordable price of 1.35L per month!” The post was shared three days ago and pulled more than 3K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “So if you look from outside there's a protruding metal box with a washer just like the window air conditioner! I hope they haven't weakened the structural strength of the building,” a user said. “This brilliant idea is already taken by the ever-resourceful Builders. All ready to be Launched,” added another.
“It's because all of you immigrants have made Mumbai overcrowded to live in,” added a third person. “Hahaha, Amchi Mumbai is unbeatable. The tenant can have a tumble bath too, instead of a Tub bath,” wrote a fourth person. “I think the commode is a decoy..the actual toilet is the front loading washer with a 45-minute flush cycle!” added another.
