Foreign Woman In Mumbai Viral Video: A video from Mumbai’s famous Gateway of India has gone viral, showing a foreign woman being surrounded by a crowd of men who tried to take selfies with her. The clip has shocked many people online and raised fresh questions about the safety of women travellers in India. In the video, the woman can be seen walking around when a man approaches her for a photo. He places his hand on her shoulder and clicks a selfie. Within seconds, more men rush towards her with phones in hand, trying to take pictures and videos. Almost 15 men gather around her, making her clearly uncomfortable. She stands quietly in the middle of the crowd, looking uneasy and unsure of what to do.

Even though she looked uncomfortable, the woman stayed calm. Toward the end of the video, she says, “Rs 100 per photo,” which many people online saw as a smart and funny way to deal with the situation. It was her way of telling the crowd that what they were doing was not okay.

The video quickly spread on social media. Many users called the men’s behaviour shameful and said such actions can feel scary, especially for solo travellers. While the situation did not become violent, people pointed out that being surrounded like this can still be very upsetting. There has been no official response from the police, and it’s not clear when the video was taken.

Comes After US Travel Warning For India:

Just a few weeks before this video went viral, the United States released a travel advisory for India. On June 16, the US asked its citizens to be extra careful while visiting the country. The advisory mentioned that crimes, including sexual violence, have gone up in crowded places like tourist spots, markets, and transport areas.

The US warning also said that “rape is one of the fastest-growing crimes in India” and that terror attacks could happen with little or no warning. Tourists, especially women, were advised not to travel alone, to stay alert in public, and to keep track of local news. The advisory also suggested that US citizens register their trips with the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) for safety.
