South Carolina Woman Viral Video: A video shared by a South Carolina woman has caught everyone’s attention online. In the clip, 31-year-old Elisabeth Weber opens up about the emotional and physical pain she went through after learning that the baby inside her had no heartbeat. Due to strict laws in her state, she wasn’t allowed to get medical help right away.
Elisabeth explained that doctors told her the fetus had stopped growing at six weeks, but even after weeks had passed, she wasn’t given the treatment she needed to remove it. She said she had gone to the hospital for help, but because of the state’s “heartbeat law,” her request was denied. “My baby has been sitting inside me dead for three weeks already,” she said in her viral video. “And now I have to wait another week, knowing my baby is dead, to do anything about it.”
While dealing with intense nausea and weakness, she added, “With my HG and all of that, I'm so sick. I have three kids, and waiting around to go into a mini-labor is just hard.” The baby still had no heartbeat even when she was nearly 10 weeks along. Elisabeth, who also lost a son to SIDS in 2018, shared her heartbreak: “My baby didn't have a heartbeat, and it still prevented me from getting care.” She also mentioned that hospital staff asked her if the pregnancy was “wanted.”
Describing how she felt, she said, “I can't believe that I'm being forced to carry around my dead baby there's really no feeling like when your womb becomes a tomb.”

The now-viral video was shared by the woman Elisabeth Hope on her official Instagram account 'elisabeth__hope.' The video shared a while ago was captioned, " I am posting my updates on Instagram, since I have only been updated on TikTok. I recorded these minutes after finding this information out, so not everything was worded correctly. I grew up in a very conservative household, but I have not been conservative since I was very young. I am not conservative, and I did NOT vote for Trump. It was not my choice to stand outside Planned Parenthood. I grew up in a cult."
The video, after being shared, received significant likes and comments from people. One user wrote, "These laws are not to protect the baby, they are to control the woman." "I’m crying with you. I’m so, so sorry that this is happening to you. It is cruel," a second user added. "This is absolutely INSANE and a disgrace for what's supposed to be one of the most developed countries in the world. I'm so mad for you and for all of us," added a third user. "I’m so sorry. I hate this country now. No one making these laws has any compassion or basic understanding of medicine," a fourth user added.
"I’m so sorry for your loss, your emotional pain, and the long and risky wait you must endure before being able to move on," added a fifth user. "Horrible situation. This is one of the many reasons I've been voting against Trump. If you set up a GoFundMe page to raise the money to travel to a state where you can get a DNC, I bet it would be funded quickly. I'm so sorry it's come to this," added another user.
